Initial Consultation

Situated in the peaceful suburbs of Waiuku and surrounded by green open spaces, homeowners John and Jan love living in their semi-rural property. However, their family bathroom was tired and cluttered. They wanted a fresh, modern bathroom that was both functional and relaxing.
The couple had been thinking about renovating for years but knew that the cost would be significant. They were also concerned that the amount of work required would cause disruption and inconvenience.
John and Jan sought advice from their local Refresh Renovation Consultant. Her strong commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget won them over and they felt assured that she would be the right person to take care of their renovation.

Designing The Perfect Bathroom

Jan and John were clear about the look they wanted to create and how much they were happy to spend. Their vision included plenty of space and storage, and shutters for privacy, as the bath sits just underneath a large window.
After her initial discussions with the couple, the Renovation Consultant arranged for concept drawings to show how John and Jan’s ideas could be applied while staying within the allocated budget. At this stage, John and Jan could make whatever changes they wanted before more detailed working drawings were put together.
The Renovation Consultant was confident the new bathroom would be both attractive and practical when she gave her clients their final quote. Knowing what the project would cost before any work began gave John and Jan reassurance that their budget would be respected. Having the Renovation Consultant and her team to take care of everything from start to finish also helped to alleviate concerns about the renovation overall.

Getting To Work

The nature of the work involved in John and Jan’s bathroom renovation meant council consent was needed before demolition and construction could begin. The Renovation Consultant dealt with everything required for the application and confirmed that all the work carried out would meet building code requirements.
Consent was secured with no delays which meant that work could start on the scheduled date.
The project required the existing bathroom to be completely gutted and work was needed on the wiring and pipes before underfloor heating could be installed. The room was also given a fresh coat of paint.
Nine different trades were involved, including builders, plumbers, electricians, concrete cutters, shower installers, and tilers. Careful scheduling of contractors at the outset meant smooth and steady progress, with no costly delays. John and Jan were kept updated throughout and could also track their renovation using the Refresh online portal.
The Renovation Consultant has excellent organisation and management skills and always makes sure work is delivered to the highest standards. Her integrity and passion have enabled her to build up a strong network of professional contractors who play a vital role in achieving the desired outcomes for her clients.

The Finished Transformation

The result of this renovation is a spacious and modern bathroom, delivered on time and within budget. The large, softly-toned tiles on the floor and walls provide a touch of luxury, while the stylish white bath is the perfect place for soaking away stress.
Adjustable shutters by Light and Shade solutions allow natural light to filter in while offering plenty of privacy when required, and the old acrylic shower has been replaced with a spacious new one.
Elegant black tapware and fittings provide a dramatic contrast to the white fixtures, and the large double bowls are both stylish and practical.
Ample storage is contained within a large, mirrored cabinet and a Placemakers vanity unit with four large drawers, design choices which have contributed significantly to the bathroom’s sleek and stylish appearance.
John and Jan are thrilled with their new bathroom:
“When we were looking for a company to renovate our bathroom, Refresh Renovations stood out and we are so pleased we chose them. Their tradespeople did such a great job and even went out of their way to accommodate our wishes. Using our new bathroom is a dream”.
