Will my project require building consent?

Like-for-like kitchen remodels generally won’t require council permission, provided new sanitary plumbing and drainage fixtures don’t need to be created. Projects which require structural work, such as kitchen extensions or additions, will require council consent. If your renovation is likely to affect your neighbours or local community, resource consent may also be required. Your renovation specialist will advise you on whether or not your project will require council consent. If it does, they can take care of the planning and application process for you.   

What materials can I choose from for my new kitchen?

The general recommendation is to opt for materials which are durable and easy to clean. There are so many modern options to choose from, making it easy to achieve a practical yet aesthetically pleasing kitchen. Engineered stone benchtops are a popular choice - they look luxurious and can be effortlessly wiped clean.
